The Tennessee Titans have the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, and as April 24 draws nearer, the signs increasingly point to selecting Miami quarterback Cam Ward. They were unable to land a veteran passer during free agency, and while they still could sign a veteran quarterback, it’s more likely that they’ll answer that question in the draft. So, it’s not really surprising that Pro Football Focus has the Titans selecting Ward with the top pick in their latest mock draft.
Prior to free agency, the Titans were thought to be potential players in the veteran quarterback market. Nothing materialized, and they will now almost certainly draft a signal-caller. After finishing 31st in PFF passing grade without pressure, Ward profiles as a significant upgrade over Will Levis, considering the Miami standout earned the highest clean pocket passing grade in the 2025 class.
After the poor play of Mason Rudolph and Will Levis in 2024, the Titans desperately need a quarterback who can adapt and get the job done. Yes, the offensive line was a major problem last season, but when you throw 21 interceptions and only 22 touchdowns (combined), that’s not all on the line.
The Titans continue to say that they are open to offers with the top pick, but canceling the private workouts they were to hold with Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter is a pretty good indication that it’s going to be costly to get the Titans out of that spot. But, hey, anything’s possible, right?
